hi!

i love to eat and travel and document as much of it as i can.

iluka, copenhagen.

iluka, copenhagen.

our first meal in copenhagen was at iluka, which is all about seafood. the space has that danish minimalism and warmth, the service is relaxed and the food was spectacular.

negroni; old fashioned.

sourdough bread & butter.

chironfils speciale oysters.

cured cod and blue mussel emulsion tartare, nori, trout roe.

cured pikeperch in sorrel, milk curd, sauce of smoked carrot and orange wine.

cold cut octopus, oyster cream, raw blue mussels, potatoes, nasturtiums.

digging into the octopus.

there were no misses, but the tartare and langoustine both really stand out in my memory.

baked langoustine, bisque butter, seaweed and parsley dust.

mayan red chocolate sorbet, soft merengue, grated roasted konbu and milk, dill oil.

it was the first of several great meals in copenhagen and a lovely experience all around. the chef even came by to chat and served us some limoncello at the end of the meal!

house limoncello served by chef!
