jeni's ice creams opens in los feliz.

i discovered jeni's ice creams at the gelson's in silverlake and quickly became obsessed. with flavors like goat cheese & cherries and middle west whiskey eggnog, how could i not? despite the crazy flavors, the dark chocolate was so simple and perfectly dark chocolate-y, it was the one that won me over.

it was announced earlier this week that jeni's first west coast store in los feliz was finally opening friday night, with free scoops! the line was out the door and around the block by 7.10 (they opened at 7) when i arrived! a girl who was one of the first thirty in line said she had been there for over an hour and a half already.

jeni was actually at the door greeting and chatting with everyone going into the store.

the line was too long for me to queue (my stomach was grumbling!) but it looked and smelled amazing. luckily, i had the pleasure of going to a jeni's in nashville back in december.

can't wait to stop by one of these days when the line isn't around the block to try flavors they don't carry at gelson's!
